Click on the Preferences button on the main toolbar to configure AceText to your own tastes and habits. You can specify your preferences in eight areas:
If you want to use the same settings on multiple computers then you can use the Export button in the lower left corner of the Preferences dialog to export your settings into an .ini file. You can copy that .ini file to another computer and use the Import button there to load those settings.
If you change your settings in the Preferences dialog and then export button then those changes are applied as if you had clicked the OK button. This ensures the exported settings include those changes.
The exported .ini file includes all the settings that you can change in the Preferences dialog and the color palettes and text layout configurations that you can edit via the buttons on the Appearance page. The exported .ini file does not include AceText’s history and state such as the list of collections that you have open or that you have recently opened. If you want to make a full backup of AceText’s preferences, state, and history then make a backup of the folder %APPDATA%\JGsoft\AceText 4 under your Windows user profile.
